After Daniel Craig was announced as the 6th James Bond, a web site was created that is attempting to encourage fans to “boycott” the film. It gave Craig critics a voice and was highly publicised by major news outlets.

The fans who supported Daniel Craig had no consolidated place where they could voice their support of Craig and their confidence in him. Because of that, it appeared to some as though the majority of fans didn't favour Craig as James Bond.

This site is here to prove them wrong. Show your support.

Daniel Craig is easily the best actor to play Bond now. We are getting a Steve McQueen type, putting the cool back into Bond again.

I just hope those tossers on that pathetic website have not put him off too much, and that he does realise there are many out there who think he is perfect for the role.

I've been a fan of the series for years (moreso with the novels) and now we finally get someone who has the potential to really play the role Fleming envisaged all those years ago. To me, he looks exactly what I imagined Bond to look like from the novels.

    Superb casting!!!!!

Daniel Craig will make a fine 007. He is a superb actor, and worthy of taking over the mantle. Eon has never let us down yet in choosing a new Bond, and this time is no exception. Having seen the trailer and some behind the scenes footage, I can safely say that I have complete faith that Mr. Craig will live up to all of our expectations.

We only have to wait until November 17 for the whole world to realize what a wonderful Bond he is.

    Good luck, Mr. Craig!

    Hey Dan man...

Casino Royale will be the reference as Bond movie in all of the franchise history as from Nov 17.

People will only swear by that movie and you, when they talk about Bond in the near future. You sure will set a very high benchmark for others to follow after you. For real!

The site members who have been discrediting you, will be forced to emigrate in Alaska to hide their faces... I for one as well as the others posting their support to you, can't quite understand what it takes to take on the role of such a huge iconographic myth like Bond, have all the adverse publicity and work thrice as much as the other actors before you did.... You alone know what it must be like to feel that way in rather "rejected" way.

But, trust me, you are not because, people on this site are backing you and rooting for you as Bond... You are one of the best Bond yet to emerge and make us remember why we are 007 fans in the first place... We have all seen and read via documentaries and interviews that you are giving in your '115%'. When you say 115,you are being quite modest coz for me i see you giving way more than that and can't force myself to be in admiration over you because I know that it is very hard pressure on all fronts! Nobody does it better that you do, Daniel... Its good that you havent lost your sense of humor though as I read that you said that others 007 actors paved the way for you to screw it up for good and blow up the franchise... Sure is amusing what you said in order to allow yourself to make fun of yourself to lift the pressure off.

Casino Royale will feature you as new 007 (the best of the series for that matter for me) in the first Bond outing in chronological order sense.... So how could I not be excited by you in the lead of the biggest Bond yet to come which is a darker knight than we've seen before...

Your incarnation of our beloved hero will be a more balanced in a human context as we've seen before... So keep it up. You have my support as your most loyal fan.

    Cheers Daniel and take care...

    You rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I await with eagerness what Dan will bring to James Bond. Too many people have jumped onto the hate campaign and judged Daniel Craig before he even got fitted for his tuxedo.

I think that in November, there will be a lot of people eating their words.

Daniel Craig is, quite simply, a fantastic choice - He brings an element of danger to the role that hasn't been evident in the films for quite some time. He's a very talented actor, and has proven to be a very professional chap in various interviews. I firmly believe that when November 17 arrives, still-unconvinced 007 fans will find their doubts blown away. Daniel Craig is indeed James Bond, and I look forward to his take on the character in Casino Royale!

I feel he's a good and brave choice. A safer bet would have been someone like Clive Owen or Hugh Jackman, both who would have been fine choices, because the public would have heavily supported. But Craig has the depth and the edge for the role and should bring it more depth, a la Timothy Dalton. Hopefully the public will see it better than they did with Dalton. He's still my favorite and I look forward to seeing what Craig can do with it.

Thank God we're getting a new James Bond. I'm sick of seeing men with diamonds impacted into their faces, terrible self-pastiche, corny one liners and everything that Bond was never meant to be. Modernising Bond is actually letting us get closer to the real bond of the books, the James Bond everyone should identify with, and not the James Bond that is terribly non-British, terribly twee and boring to be quite frank.

Daniel, you are going to do a fantastic job, you've got by far the Biggest acting chops out of any of the previous Bonds, and I will be going to see Casino Royale at the cinema, the first time I will bother actually seeing a Bond on the big screen.

Thank you Daniel, Martin Campbell and the Broccoli family for giving me the Bond the world should see, not the Bond of old, the Bond of camp.

Good luck Daniel from a fellow Chesterian! I think you are a terrific actor and your interpretation of 007 will be an extremely invaluable one. Bear in mind, of all the 007s, only Connery (picked by Daily Express readers but rejected initially by Fleming himself) and Brosnan had great support when they took over the role. Also, bear in mind that a lot of the bad press you are getting is simply because you have replaced an actor who was phenomenonally successful in the role and whom we don't understand the reasons for his departure. I am sure you will go on to have success in the role and complete many pictures in the role.

As a longtime Bond fan (saw Octopussy on the big screen in 1983 and never looked back!), I can't wait to see what Daniel Craig brings to the table in Casino Royale. A change is just what the Bond world needs right now, and having seen his varied work in Road to Perdition, Layer Cake, The Jacket, Munich, and Enduring Love, amongst others, I have the utmost confidence that Dan is the man for the job!

I'll be the first to admit that I hadn't been a huge supporter of Mr. Craig when he was rumoured to be in the running, given that I hadn't really heard of him before. But after seeing his performances as a no-nonsense drug dealer in Layer Cake and a no-nonsense hitman in Munich, and after boycotting the boycott site (which itself, incidentally, made no sense), I've since become a smitten kitten, eagerly anticipating seeing Craig don the tux. Contrary to what some may claim, Mr. Craig is not ugly, isn't too short, isn't 82 years old, doesn't smell of old tartar sauce (don't think so, anyway; haven't met the man), and is not "the most worstest choice to replace Charles Bronson as James Bond." He's James Bond, and he's here to stay.

Mr. Craig, I will gladly pay to see the film on opening weekend and I look forward to your portrayal of James Bond, which I'm convinced will be first-rate, blonde hair or not.* Please try to disregard the poor saps who are upset by the "changes" and "new things" added to the Bond world. Just do the best damn job you can and, well, y'know...screw 'em.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Daniel Craig's take on James Bond in Casino Royale. Craog's selection tells me the producers are serious about taking the franchise into a more dangerous and realistic direction. This is very exciting, and it’s something they could never do with Pierce Brosnan who, let’s face it, was sort of "Model Bond." Daniel Craig is what Bond would really be -- an authentic assassin spy. Daniel Craig IS James Bond.

    Bring it on!

I am glad to see this site, at last, a proper organised responce to those small minded few who would gladly sour other people's enjoyment of this film to satisfy their own needless and unwarrented ends.

Any choice of actor for the role would have met critics, some with genuine concern and other's who just want to rant and rave for the thrill of it, but at the end of the day Daniel Craig is more than competent and to criticise him at this point, on the basis of hair colour, height etc is simply childish, nothing more.

So to all those critics who seek fault, simply because Daniel is not the guy you wanted, Just because he's not Brosnan, or Clive Owen, or Hugh Jackman. I say to you; if you don't want to see this movie, then I'll respect that, if you think Daniel Craig is unsuitable, again I respect your opinion. But the moment you started trying to force these views down people's throats through nothing but spite, you lost all my respect, I am a Bond fan and I believe everyone has the right to their own opinions and I respect that so long as they respect mine... you do not and more importantly you don't care who you upset!

Credit is due to CBn for establishing this overdue salute to honour Daniel Craig, who has put up with more than his fair share of playground bickering lately.

Daniel Craig is a fantastic choice as Bond, and upon rereading the novel recently, I don't think there are too many other actors out there who Eon could have chosen who would have been so spot-on for this story. I was happy with the casting of Craig as Bond since before he was even announced, and now, I cannot wait to see his debut as 007.

Best of luck, Mr. Craig. Knock 'em dead.

Having grown up with the Bond movies and being named after the Original Bond, I have been a Bond fan all my life. I am an avid collector and really enjoy re-reading the books. I am really looking forward to the new bond movie. I like to refer to it as Bond Begins.

I think it is about time that the character was approached from the books perspective rather than trying to appease the film censors and critics. If they had tried to make a Bond movie like the books back at the start there probably wouldn't be a series now - the censor would of band it!

Modern times have allowed films to go in new directions, more aggressive characters, action, etc. Let's face Bond is a weapon he's a killer but has issues. He doesn't joke about his kills. That's not to say the earlier Bonds are wrong - no they're great, I must have watched each one dozens of times. I like all the Bond interpretations. But it's time to go back to the source.

So to all those so-called Bond enthusiast's that have tried to stop Bond (as if you could do that anyway) - If you are real Bond fans then you would embrace any attempt to keep Bond going and support the project.

    Go Daniel

I am frankly thrilled that there is finally a site to take those to task who feel that Daniel Craig is somehow incompetent for the role of Bond.

Had they read Casino Royale or seen Layer Cake or Road to Perdition, they would not be whining about Barbara Broccoli tagging him for CR.......

Finally, I am also thrilled that they are finally going to reflect the Bond of the books, not the flippant, one line spouting variety, save for Timothy Dalton who tried to reflect the Bond of the books in License to Kill and Living Daylights, of earlier films

We, the undersigned, fans of Ian Fleming's James Bond, wish to protest against the casting of Sean Connery as the 007.

Mr Connery is a working class Scot, a million miles away from the refined, cultured upper-class gentlemen agent of Fleming. His look is not at all as the writer describes, nor is his accent and already-receding hairline appropriate for the role.

Mr Connery is primarily a television actor, with a shaky and unproven track-record in cinema, and we are certain his charisma - which, in interviews, seems non-existent, where he seems uncomfortable with the public demands of the part - will not prove strong enough on the big screen.

Why has nobody approached David Niven, whom Fleming himself suggested? He has the refined manners and proven track-record we would expect from the silver screen's first 007.

We hope you will consider this request in the spirit it was meant - an attempt to avoid disastrous mis-casting that will, we are sure, bury any potential franchise/sequel opportunities.

(Anyone can have a knee-jerk reaction. Daniel Craig is shaping up nicely and I have every confidence in his abilities for Casino Royale and future Bond movies.)

I know anyone can say this, but it's true! Going back a long while to when Daniel Craig was first mentioned for Bond and can remember saying at work (they know me as the 'Bond man' - I work in a model car shop selling the Bond stuff among others) - "I think Daniel Craig would make a good Bond - he's different but would make a daring choice to bring the role back to life".

I'll say it again - Daniel's different, but there's nothing wrong with that and I couldn't care less about height (as I'm 5'7", anyone's tall to me!) or bits about hair - I don't think we've seen the same hair style all the way through the film series?! Daniel brings the gritty edge that people talk about both good and bad - to me, this brings a potent, defining quality that should ideally transform the Bond image for the better.

The film looks great and I strongly believe that Daniel Craig (okay, and two Aston Martins in one film!) will be a strong figure in defining the Bond role, both for loyal fans and possibly a new generation.

Good luck Casino Royale and Daniel Craig as James Bond! It is a winning combination that deserves every success!

I must chuckle at the "anti-folks" out there. They may enjoy hollow volcano's and invisible cars, and Bond piloting the space shuttle...all the while having Fleming's novels reduced to title only...but I'm sure Fleming is rooting right now for Daniel Craig. I'd advise people who seem so sure that Mr. Craig is not right for Bond, go to Fleming's description of the actual character; both physically and in attitude. Please crack a book once in a while. Here's an idea...Try Casino Royale! Wow! First book! Good place to start for your 007 education; not the TV!!!. Then look up a picture of Hoagy Carmichael; say a young picture. Oh no!...blond hair; yeah boy, that's a deal breaker! Gosh, I can remember the good old days when we used to pickett against Connery for having showed up without a "thin white scar on his right cheek"! As far as the grittier edge; thank goodness is all I will say. Oh, and while were at it guys, Mr. Craig is certainly the most accomplished actor to take on the mantle IMHO. They don't let you into Guildhall if you don't have a bit of something. Mr. Craig, if you do read these posts...give'em hell mate! There's a heck of a lot of people who are ready and rooting for you to let'er rip! As an actor you know if people don't dig your scene...they never will. Forget about those folks...Have a pint and a smile! I think all of us are ready for Nov. right now! Good Show.

Let the doubters and the naysayers stand outside the cinemas in the cold and frosty night, clutching at sparklers and acting like spoiled children who have decided they will stamp their feet and not join in the fun. One day they will grow up and realise how silly they have been.

The rest of us will crowd into the cinemas, our hearts racing, genuinely thrilled and excited to see this extraordinarly good actor tackle the role of James Bond.

The Bond series is a part of my life. It is veritable hobby of mine to learn the history and all the behind the scenes details of the films. Sick, I know, but the truth nonetheless. From what I have seen and read (from reliable sources such as interviews with the producers and actors of the film) I can honestly say that I have never been so excited about a Bond film, or any other film perhaps. It is often said that Pierce Brosnan "saved" the series back in '95, which may be true to some extent. However, I say the true saving is yet to come this November.

I say Craig is Bond, and he sitteth at the right hand of Connery.

I'm looking forward to the next Bond film. From what I've seen so far, it's going to be great.

It's sad that some people think they know what a new Bond actor's performance is going to be like, before they have seen the tiniest bit of the result. It's even sadder that these people get attention from the press. If those whiners stay away from the cinema, so much the better. I wouldn't want them in front of me ruining my experience with their pathetic remarks.

Daniel Craig is one of the best actors around at the moment, for such an actor to take on the part of James Bond, an iconic institution, is exciting indeed. The character is being taken in a direction that many fans have long been calling for. For such a minority as CraigNotBond to turn around and grab the attention by calling for boycotts before seeing the film is ill-conceived, reactionary and narrow-minded. It is, therefore, gratifying to hear that Daniel Craig worked extra hard to get the part right so that those of us looking forward to the movie will watch the character brought back to the screen with the energy he deserves whilst the boycotters sit at home and post their whinges on their unread, unloved and irrelevant site.

I haven't been this excited about a Bond film (or any film) for a long time. However the trailer for Casino Royale made me become really obsessed with bond once again, something that hasn't happened for 7 years.

I am sure that Daniel Craig will be the best Bond since....yeah probably Sean Connery. Well probably not the absolutely best but the one that nails the role most perfect. There are nothing wrong with his looks, finally we have a coollooking guy that has attitude and that the ladies still find very sexy again. This is much better than the playboy looks of Pierce Brosnan. I support Daniel Craig to 110% and I am extremely sure that Casino Royale will be a very very good movie. Go Daniel!

I must first say that I was a bit surprised at the choice of Craig for Bond! After a decade of the ever-pretty Brosnan, I must say I was used to a model-ish looking James Bond. However, after actually reading several of Fleming's novels and watching Layer Cake it's easy to see Craig as Bond! Bond is a ruthless and a tarnished man..he drinks, he smokes and has rahter expensive tastes plus he is awful deadly and those are his better qualities! And Daniel Craig couldn't be a better man for the part...he looks like the "real" James Bond.

Well all these things don't mean anything until the end-credits of Casino Royale..however said he looks up to the part and I'm excited to see a return to the "true" James Bond.

I must say, to be quite honest when Daniel's name was mention as a potential James Bond 007, I was not sure if he was a serious candidate as the first photo I seen with him was a pairing with Clive Owen and Daniel maniped on Brosnan's body which look horrible. It wasn't until months later late September and early October that his name was mention again in the Bond run that I saw a great photograph of young Daniel that I said to myself..."This is next James Bond" whatever Babs and Michael saw in Daniel I saw then and there and made my mind up. Daniel Craig is going to be the new OO7. I was an excited young man when he was officially announce as James Bond! I have been supportive of Daniel ever since, been arguing with cousins and friends that Daniel is the BEST thing that has ever happen to the franchise. Couple with the fact that rest of cast for Casino Royale is outstanding, I am overjoy with the direction Daniel is taking with the Bond role! Darker, Harder Edged and more human. Come November Bond fans including myself will be on Cloud 9! May Daniel Craig's reign as James Bond OO7 be exiciting, spectacular, and memorable! I know it will be.

    Good luck, Dan!

    Hi Dan,
Pierce Brosnan is and will always be my favourite Bond... i grew up watching him, but I think you're gonna be an excellent 007. Please, don't worry about that stupids that call you "the worst Bond" before watching the film... remember that all over the world there are people supporting you!.

    All the best!

I just want to chime in with my 2 cents worth. After seeing Craig in several films, I am highly impressed with his acting. When I heard he was cast as Bond, I was thrilled. After reading some of Mr. Craig's comments on the issue, I am really looking forward to the new, edgier Bond, and expect that this Bond is going to be the one I have always imagined. I know there has been a lot of ridiculous uproar about the selection, but I predict that this Bond is going to become the new standard to which all others are held.

Daniel is t-h-e best actor choice for bond. And, lets face it , its good to have an actor like Daniel who can bring some real spy qualities to the role. Fan of Daniel will knolw what I mean.

    Dear Mr. Craig,

You were great in Road to Perdition and Layer Cake. And those two were so different from one another.

I believe you will be a great James Bond, particularly as Casino Royale promises to be a relatively realistic thriller. I'm sure you could do a cartoonish Bond, but it wouldn't give you as much chance to impress.
